Servicing a gas fire or boiler is an essential safety measure
and is also a case of prevention being better than cure.
Firstly an appliance is inspected and then it is
cleaned to remove any deposits which can clog the heating system.
Secondly we carry out tests, for example to make
sure that there are no gas leaks, to make sure that the flue is pulling correctly and to check that fumes - including
carbon monoxide- are not coming back into the house. The fuel burning efficiency of a boiler is assessed using
a flue gas analyser.
After our visit we will give you a certificate listing the
checks that we have carried out and identifying any problems we have found with the appliance.
An annual service can help to prevent some problems from arising
in the first place and also identify components that need replacing, rather than waiting until an expensive breakdown
occurs. It can also save you money on fuel bills by ensuring that that your appliance is running at its maximum
efficiency.
